Balance confidentiality and transparency on your flows

Confidentiality and transparency are not mutually exclusive, but rather two sides of the same coin.
Thomas de Maiziere

At Pipeline, we believe in providing transparency on your flows. However, transparency does not mean sharing every detail of your process nor sharing it with everyone. Sometimes, confidentiality is required, e.g. HR matters, salaries/bill rates, trade secrets, personal information, etc.

As flow owners, you can protect sensitive information on any of your flow steps by turning on the Confidential toggle on a step.

All information that is part of a confidential step (instructions, form fields, files, and notes) will be hidden on any Ask that is created from the flow.

Confidential step(s) in the Ask will be designated with a . Only the flow owner and designated step owner of the confidential step can see information related to the confidential step in these areas: Steps tab, All Form Fields tab, All Files tab, All Notes tab, Summary, Save PDF, Activity Feed, and Download Raw.

Everyone else cannot see information related to the confidential step from anywhere in the Ask. They can only see the step name and step number of the confidential step which is listed in order along with all the steps.

You can rest assured that your confidential information will be protected and kept away from prying eyes.
