Prerequisites
You will the following before you can integrate Pipeline with Office 365:
- Dedicated Office 365 account ex:
pipeline@yourcompany.com
. Do NOT use your own Office 365 account. - Pipeline: Email Whitelabel Add-On
Configure Office 365 account
Enable Authenticated SMTP
To begin, enable Authenticated SMTP for the dedicated Office 365 account by logging into Office 365 Admin → Users → Active Users → Mail (Tab) → Manage Email Apps
Then, the dedicated account's email and password to our support help desk or in-app chat to integrate Pipeline with your Office 365.
Disable Multifactor Authentication
Office 365 authenticated SMTP will not work, if multi-factor authentication is turned on.
To disable it for the dedicated Office 365 account, go to Office 365 Admin → Users → Active Users → Multi-factor Authentication. Then, disable it for the account.
Note, if the account is still requiring multi-factor authentication, it's because multi-factor authentication is enforced in Azure Active Directory.
To disable it in Azure Active Directory, go to Azure Portal → Azure Active Directory → Properties → Manage Security Defaults

Limitations
While Pipeline can integrate with Office 365 directly for sending emails and you get the benefit of seeing sent emails in your Sent folder, it is not the recommended option for Email Whitelabel, because of these limitations:
- Office 365 has a hard limit of 1,000 email sends per day to new recipients. Refer to the Office 365 documentation for email limits.
- You cannot change the
FROM:
address. You're limited to the dedicated Office 365 account's email address. - You have to disable Microsoft security defaults.
For those reasons, Email Domain Whitelabel is the recommended option.
