Use Pipeline on Zapier

Easily connect Pipeline to 4,000+ apps through our Zapier integration and automatically update apps like Google Docs, Hubspot, Dropbox, Jira, Slack, and many more!

Say for example: the numbers filled out in a step not only need to be in Pipeline but you also need to keep record of these numbers in an Excel spreadsheet. Instead of filling out information in 2 places, you can build a zap that updates a spreadsheet with the numbers filled out in your step.

The great news, you can easily start building zaps, if your company already has a Zapier account all you have to do is find our app, Pipeline, in Zapier and login to get started!

Prerequisites

You will need the following before you can integrate Pipeline with Zapier:

• Zapier account (sign up for free!)

Connect Pipeline to Zapier

Add Pipeline as an App Connection

To connect Pipeline to Zapier, log into your Zapier account → My Apps → Add Connection

Enter Pipeline in the Add a new app connection field

Next, enter your Pipeline instance domain, ex: mycompany.pipelineapp.io, to grant Zapier access to your Pipeline domain.

Once you've hit continue, the screen shows that a 3rd-party app is requesting access to your Pipeline on your behalf. This means, Zapier will execute actions in Pipeline (ex: create an Ask, complete a step, etc.) in your name.

Click Approve Access to finish setup.

Note, after you set up your Pipeline account, you need to refresh the page in your browser to see Pipeline is a new app connection in Zapier. Zapier does not auto-update the page for you.

Test your Zapier connection

To test your Pipeline connection in Zapier, log into your Zapier account → My Apps → Pipeline → Test Connection

Now Zapier is connected to your Pipeline and you can start building zaps!

Share your Zapier connection with team members

Share your connection with others so that other people can take advantage of your connection.

Advanced

Using a system account

Sometimes, it can be confusing to have Zapier perform actions in Pipeline in your name. For extra transparency, it's a best practice to create a separate user for Zapier, so that it's clear who is performing actions in Pipeline.

To set this up, first create an email account for Zapier in your domain, ex: zapier@company.com

• Refer to Google Workspace documentation for how to add a new user
• Refer to Microsoft 365 documentation for how to add a new user

Once you create the new user for Zapier, log into Pipeline as the new user. We recommend:

• Update the name to be Zapier Bot
• Updating the profile picture to be the Zapier logo. Download here »
• Disable all user notifications

Then, add a new Zapier App Connection for Pipeline. Make sure Zapier is connected as the new Zapier user.
